Hi! My name is Adele. I'll be your hostess on this journey into The Wonderful World of Adele. If you are now thinking, "Oh, no! I'm 35, and life is SWEET. I've been married for a several years now to Arlie - a caring, compassionate, honest, stubborn (as am I), hard-working, passionate man who loves to make me laugh. He and I, our darling daughter Dawn (born in Jan. 2010), and our cat Nausicaa, live in Asheville, NC. We spent the first few years of our marriage living in a historic neighborhood in Spartanburg, SC. Despite the many wonderful people living in that neighborhood, Spartanburg never really felt like home to either of us. Asheville, on the other hand, I have loved since I first visited it when I was 13 years old. I even lived there for a couple of years before meeting and marrying Arlie. I love the social atmosphere, the art galleries, downtown, the Biltmore Estate, the Grove Park Inn, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and so much more. Arlie enjoys Asheville as well, and the two of us have agreed that Asheville is where we want to raise our children...and so here we are!

Other than that...my favorite things to do in my spare time (which I don't have near as much of as I did before Dawn made me a Mommy, of course) are: spend time with my friends, read, listen to music, take walks, research my geneology, bike, veg out watching a movie or the tv, take pictures, write, and fiddle around on the computer. I love to travel, but also like to sleep in my own bed. The most basic description of my personality is that I love life [one of my all-time favorite quotes is from "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau: "I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to put to rout all that was not life, and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived."] I'm also a very positive person...I'm almost always happy, and have a very strong belief that things will turn out for the best (so far, they have). I'm always happy to make new friends, so feel free to email me...
